Business Development Manager: Publishing

Your responsibilities:

  • proactively identify, approach, and convert well-known brands, publishers, and IP holders into Gamefound partners;
  • build and manage a strong outbound sales pipeline focused on premium books, comics, and collectibles projects;
  • pitch Gamefound as a premium crowdfunding and pre-order platform tailored for special editions and high-end products;
  • lead the full sales cycle – from prospecting and first contact, through negotiations, to closing deals and onboarding partners;
  • develop long-term relationships with key decision-makers across publishing, entertainment, and collectibles industries;
  • collaborate with partners to shape compelling campaign concepts that fit Gamefound’s audience and strengths;
  • work closely with internal teams (marketing, product, support) to ensure successful campaign launches and partner satisfaction;
  • monitor market trends and identify high-potential brands, titles, and creators suitable for crowdfunding campaigns;
  • represent Gamefound at industry events, trade shows, and meetings to generate leads and strengthen brand presence;
  • continuously refine outreach strategies, messaging, and positioning to improve conversion and deal quality.

Our requirements:

  • proven experience in sales, business development, or partnerships – ideally in publishing, entertainment, or premium consumer products;
  • track record of successfully acquiring partners, closing deals, and managing a sales pipeline;
  • strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and decision-makers;
  • experience working with international clients or partners;
  • ability to understand partners’ needs and translate them into compelling campaign opportunities on Gamefound;
  • proactive, ownership-driven mindset with a strong focus on results;
  • ability to work independently and drive deals from first contact to close;
  • fluent English (C1/C2) – you will work with international partners on a daily basis.

Nice to have:

  • existing network within publishing, entertainment, or IP-driven industries;
  • experience working with well-known brands, publishers, or licensed products;
  • understanding of how IP licensing works (rights, approvals, basic deal structures);
  • experience with premium products (e.g. collectibles, special editions, limited runs);
  • familiarity with crowdfunding, pre-orders, or direct-to-consumer sales models;
  • genuine interest in pop culture, comics, books, games, or entertainment brands.

What we offer:

  • hybrid or remote work model;
  • co-create one of the fastest-growing crowdfunding platforms in the world – be part of an innovative project;
  • a high-impact role with real ownership over partnerships with globally recognized brands and IPs;
  • ambitious, non-trivial challenges in the world of global IP, publishing, and licensing;
  • a high level of autonomy and a true partnership approach within the team;
  • an opportunity to build and scale a fast-growing global business supporting creators and reaching millions of users worldwide;
